‘Intolerant to fraud guided by justice and equity for all’

This division is autonomous and has a mandate to investigate and combat fraud in sheriffs offices as a result of misrepresentations, misappropriation of funds, non compliance to laws, policies and procedures et al that govern the sheriffs’ profession.

The mandate of this Division emanates from the Sheriffs Act 90 of 1986

With its mandate this division guards the image of the sheriffs’ profession and most importantly that of the public.

This Sector provides independent, objective and discrete assurances designed to add value and improve the organisation’s operations. It helps the organisation accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes.

This division also serves as a vanguard to the sheriffs’ profession and the public by applying good governance in ensuring compliance, holding non complying sheriffs accountable and responsible for their unlawful actions. The mandate also extends to the board who by virtue of their office must subscribe to good business practice.
